Very happy with the saw the only slight problem was the blade angle needed setting up but that’s not hard at all, and once done a very good cut.

DIY block paving. Good easy to use compacter, but the paving pad started to move across to the left a day of light use. The bolts were all still tight..... My cure, four small G clamps

I am a home DIYer and so have a limited budget. After quite a bit of research I decided that rather than getting a basic entry level table saw I would spend a bit more and get an evolution as I already have some of their tools and have been impressed with them. I selected the Rage 5S based on price and the quality of the rip fence, it locks at both ends so no flex, the expandable table size, it does go very wide, and the sliding mitre panel, it’s hard to explain this but if you see one in use you will understand that last part. Setup: As with everyone else building up the mobile stand is a bit of a faff and the instructions aren’t that great. I ended up going to YouTube for help; this link is a very helpful and clear explanation of how to set it up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ll3GJt1iKQ. Once set up it needed very little fettling and cuts accurately enough for me. So far I’ve done some re-sawing and ripping. The rip fence and measuring scales are very impressive and accurate. For mitring I used the sliding panel as opposed to the slot as there is no discernible wobble doing it this way. I’ve also cut down some fairly large panels of MDF – well kitchen cupboard doors actually again no problems and excellent results. I also spent ages finding the right size spanner, long enough, to lower the riving knife to cut some groves only to find 2 already screwed onto the side of the saw and the same with the push stick but on the other side. So overall after a couple of weeks I have to say I’m happy with my purchase, it’s easy to use oh and the kill switch works well a little tap and it shuts off. Problems: I’ve had to make a little trolley to get it through doorways, effectively sideways, as it is way too wide using the wheels on the stand but that’s the price you pay for the large table area.

This sander only worked for a few minutes. It then cut out. Then it worked again for a bit. Then it didn't. I tried it the next day, having tried changing the fuse in the plug, in case that was the problem but it did not work at all. A bit of a waste of time and a shame as it looked like a good little sander. I registered with support at Evolution and mailed them but had no reply so sent it back for a refund.

Just received this beast so not really done that much work with it. First impressions are very good. Comes well packed. Easy assembled and feels right. Bought it because we have paths and patios to lay all round a large garden but when you consider the cost of hire the price goes up. This way I can do stuff a little at a time without breaking the back or the bank! Ok remember it's 5kN so building sites are out but for advanced dig and self employed a good buy. Then it packs back down to the size of my lawnmower / sacrifier and under the bench for the future. Win win

I have a a number of evolution tools, I have the motor with variable outputs, pressure washer, water pump, Good engine, chassis is terrible, the wheels fall off at the welds, the rubber feet also break at welds, lance is poor. I also have the 305mm disc cutter, seems quite good, could do with some sort of shock absorbing handle.

The Evolution EVO 380. This saw is in the same class as a Harbor Freight Chap saw. I have made 6 cuts with it and everyone is junk. None of the degree marking on the fence are correct. I check the angle before cutting and found it to be over 10* out. Set the back fence to where it should be and started cutting. The material will not stay in place no matter how tight you tighten it. When you start to cut the fence will come loose causing it walk. Please save your money and go buy from Harbor Freight at least you can return there junk when it does not work correct

Really surprised by the build quality and the overall feel of the saw. For the size of the saw it did my decking with no problems, also I was really impressed with the blade, very good for the money.

Its an excellent Mitre Saw - how do they make it for that price? Easy to assemble. Very well designed and built. Key factors for me were the 255mm blade size and the reach of the slide mechanism that will cut up to 300mm. I've just fitted 175mm skirting, architrave and a picture rail. The saw was everything I hoped for. The motor has electronic slow start that provides control at that critical point (vs a power surge and aggressive spin up from my previous mitre saw). It's a shame they saved £5 by not supplying the dust bag. I transferred the one from my old saw. You can probably get them on eBay. Previous comments about the laser are correct - it is tricky to see in bright sunshine. The feature provides little more than confirmation of where the blade will cut, which you get from placing the blade on the work piece before spinning the blade - so the value of it is lost on me. Indicators for the cut angles are very clear. The blade supplied provides a very clean cut (despite the low number of TPI). It's lighter than my previous (Wickes) 250mm saw. I can carry this one with ease. Excellent value for money.

Not so happy waiting a month for delivery then when building up the three feet to the frame one came off in the tightening process due to rubbish welding had to contact supplier to as if I re- weld it making sure it didn’t effect my warranty. During first time operation was disappointed with the high pressure hose length to short. Then after use wheeling it back to storage fuel was leaking from some where have not had time to investigate this yet so no not very happy
