No problems with this saw. Easy to set up and simple to use

I purchased this little Power saw to carry around on the Van, need it to cut metal and wood Curtain poles and wood blinds down, What a fantastic piece of kit, has saved me hours, all for £50 ..............bargain. Would highly recommend for someone wanting a lightwieght addition to use occasionally. I don't think this would stand up to everyday heavy use, but certainly does the job I need it for.

I am very pleased with the purchase of my saw. I would not dream or dare to cut metal with it, but it is for me assuring to know that should I ever hit a hidden nail, the blade will not be troubled. I have a QD mounting for my saw on the end of my router table. This gives me a very good and long bench to operate from. I note that the saw does seem to suffer one design flaw: The pull-in-out locking knob can pry on the workpiece when mitre cutting at 45 degrees in one direction. This prevents the cut being completely made. I was pleased to find spare motor brushes included, but there is no reference to how often these might need to be called for. Overall, a well made product which gives accurate cuts. I hope one day to buy a sliding version to enable me to do so much more, and Evolution will be given first consideration. Thanks. J.C.

I have three evolution power tools and so far I cannot fault them. If I have any criticism is that the saw blades don't last as long as I think they should do.

Pleased with the piece of kit and it did everything it said it would. The only problem I've had is with the dust bag kit which didn't fit and it cost me ten quid. Dave Waring.

I have the 255mm sliding compound saw. Generally very good saw takes a good days work rather than a hobby saw. However as this is my 2nd saw I think I should warn people of two things. 1. Where the sliding bars meet the main body is a weak area this is where my first saw broke, but was out of guarantee so I had to buy a new one. Point 2. Another weak area is where the blade fits on. It is held on with what seems quite a soft washer and nut, mine is now not keen to work under too much stress I now have to take alot longer to make cuts as the result will be the blade will wobble as if it has come loose . Apart from that it is a good saw a few hundred pound cheaper than dewalt, makita etc. I would buy another because I am not sure the others would last 3 times longer.

I have a multi purpose compound mitre saw and would heartily recommend it to anyone requiring an accurate and efficient saw. Only one gripe - the dust collection system is hopeless so don't use it in the house!

very surprised how quick and easy it is to cut steel!! been using abrasive discs for ever and just accepted slow cutting only concern is not as consistent with cut angles as I would have liked

Hi, after more than a year the engine and water pump perform as good as new. However, did have a problem with the unit - one of the wheels fell off! Was working at a garage at the time so they looked at it. The wheels had only been tack welded to hold in position for permanent welding so the second wheel would have failed soon after. Garage put the wheel back on and welded both of them properly. No problems since. Did cost me £20.00 though. Probably something missed on quality checks from the factory in Italy.

The blades and the concept is brilliant but the power tools themselves are a bit DIY. Could also do with a more robust professional rance

a good tool with no kick back due to twin blades. not difficult to recommend. bought two packs of replacement blades and a bit surprised to find one blade with a cut across it - a very close examination more or less confirms the blade will be safe to use -but a bit surprised it went through quality checks. both packs were sealed and fault not visible until opened.

Excellent skillsaw with plenty of power, good depth of cut and easy adjustments for blade angle and depth of cut. The parallel cutting fence is a bit flimsy and the only slightly negative feature. I would definitly recommend it for any serious DIYer or tradesman.

No problems with the compound mitre saw, except that if you set it at it's maximum angle in both directions, it saws through the guide rail!!! How stupid is that?... other than that, a fine tool...

The circular saw is robust and copes well with nails/screws. However, I find that the blade guard often sticks and has to be freed by hand when starting a cut.
