“I have the evolution rage circular saw. It’s out of warranty, but only had occasional use. Recently while using it, the blade height adjustment rod failed mid cut. This resulted in a much deeper cut than I needed, meaning I cut into my workbench. I contacted Evolution, whose response was basically “hard lines... here are the parts we can sell you”. I posted this on a woodwork group and several other owners have had the same fault. So 0/10 for product quality, and 0/10 with your crappy response to a product defect that has ruined my £90 shop bought workbench.”

“Like so many before me I was initially very dubious about the claims made regarding Evolution saws, however I watched a few online videos and checked the independent feedback published on these and have to admit that it was these that changed my mind. I'm a semi skilled fabricator/weldor and have used traditional cutting tools for years. I needed a temporary solution while my main metal cutting saw was being serviced and purchased an Evo Rage 2 Chop saw. I knew they were supposed to be good because of the video's etc but wow its really great, nice and light - easy to move around the workshop and have next to me while I'm working rather than having to walk backwards and forwards to a machine fixed to the floor. It needs care of operation, repeated cuts of a specific angle mean you need to double check the clamp hasn't come undone, safety glasses (which we all wear don't we) are a total must as the saw spits out hot shards of metal from the right hand side of the blade when cutting - stand to the left and its less of a problem! Overall I rate this chop saw 10 out of 10 for performance and value, can't ask for more than that esp at the price I got mine.”
