For any complete table saw beginners out there who enjoy diy but wonder if a table saw is something you could master, the answer is yes! After dithering about for 2 years I finally bit the bullet. My arthritis and progressive immune disorder is making the use of hand tools more and more difficult, but I don’t want to stop my diy and making things. I bought the fury5-S as wanted a saw that would cut through different materials, that I could produce slanted edges so finishing work off with a professional look, this also has the benefit of producing mitred cuts. I’m not sure yet how the mitre gauge stands when compared with a specific mitre saw, but for someone who’s just starting out, I’m sure the gauge will surface. I may come back in the future and update this bit as one never knows, it could turn out like the rest of this machine... just the best piece of kit. For me, a total beginner to these saws.... Building the saw took the best part of a sunny afternoon in the back garden, no problem, and the instructions were quite easy to read and carry out. The saw when built is very sturdy. I did do some reading about using a table saw and how to get the best from the saw, optimal sawing heights etc etc, and I highly recommend any beginner doing this (easily found on google). I then set about familiarising myself with the placement of switches and dials, then got some used wood a did some test cuts. Oh my, where have you been all my life? Like a knife through warm butter! I then practiced with measurements. The measuring guide is precise and lined up exactly with my ‘pencilled’ measurements, the guide bar when lined up with the measured wood, sends the wood to be cut through the saw precisely. Using the push tool the saw produced and entirely smooth cut with no splintering. I then set to with my first job. Cutting 6 replacement sprung bed slats of beech wood for my sons bed. Honestly, I couldn’t believe how easy it was. Beautiful cuts, no mistakes, and as they say, measure twice and cut once! After cutting them I used a piece of light sandpaper to soften & round the edges, I honestly didn’t have any splinters or rough edges to make ‘look good’, it was purely for a professional finish. Ok, it was a small job, but one that needed doing. I couldn’t be happier, and with a much larger project coming up (cutting used scaffold boards and posts to make frames to build 2 fairly large raised beds for growing fruit and veg), I can’t wait to get started. For the price and the quality of ones finished product, this fury5-S is all one could want, and more. The delivery, considering there was a weekend right in the middle, was fast, delivered within 48 ‘working hours’. I couldn’t be happier with the construction, sturdiness & ease of use of this machine and look forward to many more years of diy of which my illnesses now won’t be putting a premature end to. Thank you Evolution! 👍🏻

Essential piece of equipment for anyone working with wood, the laser ensures a perfect cut every time and the ability to cut a variety of angles is so handy. Set up of the machine is very easy and when used on the stand gives total control of the machine

Tools are great but customer service is shocking. Ordered on the Thursday for next day delivery, phoned late Friday as it had not arrived... promised that delivery would be made Monday... ok a glitch. Monday phoned fir update and now told Tuesday because of the coronavirus... absolute rubbish I have not had any problems with deliveries to my business the whole time. They are just using this as an excuse for bad service . Last time I order direct from them!

I didn’t want to clutter my precious work space by have 3 saws that basically do the same job. I mostly cut rock with the diamond blade and this saw is a champ at that. The reduced blade speed is ideal for this application. I have occasionally cut 6” tubular steel and that was also a breeze. Really is amazing at just how clean the cut actually is. Blew my friend away who is a welder and now he is getting his own saw. Wood cutting is ok but I will probably be getting a dedicated wood blade if I have a project where there will be multiple cuts.

I bought an Evolution R185 CCSL circular saw. I'd never used a circular saw before, and had to assemble it myself. Because the assembly pamphlet was unclear, and I couldn't see what to do from the little illustrations, I assembled the pieces wrongly. I have ended up with a damaged machine that is twisted and undoubtedly unsafe to use. Only when I watched a Youtube tutorial online did I see how to assemble the parts correctly. My complaint is that the instruction pamphlet is insufficient to help those who have never assembled a circular saw before. This might have been a good tool but I didn't get the chance to find out. I will have to buy another circular saw.

Dear EPT, I bought a Rage 5-S table saw, and while some of the features are good, it is not good in other ways. As a cabinetmaker, it is a bit light on accuracy for me. Cutting mitres using the sled is less accurate that just using the mitre gauge in the slot. The table is too light. It should be heavier construction, made light to reduce the weight. The scale bears no relation to the distance between the fence and the blade, except that it increases the further away that it is. The insert is not flush with the table, and no way to change that. There is no way of fitting other inserts that I might want to make. There is a lot of dust that is not collected by the shop vac. Happy to further discuss any items. Overall, I would not have bought if I'd had a chance to try first. Best regards, Ian Stewart

Evolution's Customer service is exemplary! I wore out the drive pulley on my file sander after 18 months of continuous use and as I didn't think that this was caused by fair wear and tear I enquired about buying a replacement part. I had a response after two days, which is pretty good considering 'lockdown' and was asked to provide more information. I sent a photo of the worn part and was told that I would get a response a.s.a.p. A few days later a refurbished as new file sander arrived under warranty. Excellent service, thank you.

Superb tooling. This is my first experience with Evolution PT, and I am completely impressed. I bought the SMS210 Sliding Mitre Saw and was so happy with the quality that I then suggested the Saw Stand as a Birthday gift from my partner. I also bought the additional Diamond blade. The only difficulty was fitting the saw to the stand. The bolts and bolt holes are a bit too ‘Universal’, meaning how my Saw fitted to the Stand was a bit ‘imaginative!’ Hopefully Evolution can improve on this, but i would buy the equipment again and again. It’s a cliche, but you wont be disappointed!

I recently brought .a evolution sliding chop saw. I picked evolution as I had brought a evolution circular saw last year and was impressed with that so I wish I had done this years before as the one I had wasnt as good as this. I love the fact you can cut plastic wood metal without changing blades. It's made my projects much quicker as i get straight cuts and mitre cuts easily and without any fuss. Great tools

Initial impression of my first Evolution purchase is very good. Seems solidly built, works well and is very good value for money. Time will tell, but I feel I have made a good purchase

Just received the other day, did a few test cuts. Goes thru 1 1/4 "galvanized steel pipe with ease and the cut is very square. The heavy cast iron base is very solid and well made. Love the quick release lock screw. The 10ft. power cord is a very nice feature. The chip tray is also very a very nice feature. This is my first metal, cold cutting chop saw, so still getting used to it. So far quite happy with it and glad I opted for the heavy duty version despite being a bit more expensive. I ordered a second 14" blade for cutting 301, 302, & 303 Stainless Steel. Time will tell, but from other reviews I've read the Evolution S380 was a wise purchase.
