haven't used it yet but very disappointed for the money spent out that you get no dust bag included

Worked straight out of the box But unfortunately, the main problem is registering one's tool on the web site because the site uses some categories which are not on the tools or the box in which it came. Really time-consuming and annoying

The saw that i bought from screw fix made my work a lot easier however working out which way to cut was very difficult and cost me a lot of time and wasted product. Also the small clamp that comes with the saw is no good if you are cutting at 45 degrees as it catches the blade housing.

Good saw cuts everything it’s said to I think you should get the supports with it though

Found it difficult to set up. You have to be in possession of a precision 4 inch set square which I found hard to purchase as suppliers sold them in sets. Also I was hoping for a Dust bag and extender arms so that you can cut pieces all the same lengths. Only cut some 90 degree angles so far and it seems ok after making further adjustments.

I needed a table saw at a budget price with a decent sized table which could cut aluminium plate in addition to wood and plywood and which was portable and could be used without access to a workbench. The R5-S was the only saw I could find which met all these needs. Although I’m now pleased with it, on receipt almost everything was out of adjustment or alignment so I had to spend considerable time realigning andcsetting it up but this has proved a worthwhile exercise. I strongly reccommend others to do the same and not to assume its all correct. The only remaining irritations are that the channels for the mitre gauge are 0.4 to 0.5 mm wider than the bar on the gauge resulting in considerable sideways and angular slop which affects accuracy, and the channels are much shallower than the 9.5 mm depth used on more expensive table saws, meaning other attachments which use these channels can’t be used unless special bars are first made and fitted to the attachments. A minor gripe us that the cut-outs which Evolution state are intended to house the supplied push stick are far to narrow or shallow to accommodate it so I have to keep it loose. But overall, I’m now happy with the saw which is all I could afford.

Mixed review sorry. I have a eveolution engine with the 3200 pressure washer attachment. Unfortunately the washer has failed just after two years and used just once a month so I’ve been forced to buy another attachment. On the plus side the machine is a great tool and makes switching from attachments very easy

The saw itself is great. Unfortunately the Startup load is so high, that the fuse is being released every time the saw is turned on. Via the Hotline, I was informed, that the machine is actually not dedicated to be used in private households, which had nowhere been mentioned on the official Website or vendor pages. I had to purchase a separete device to reduce the Startup load and act as a soft starter. After that, the machine was running perfectly and no more issues. Thus, this was not to be expected and should be mentioned.

I purchased a Rage 3-S Multipurpose Sliding Mitre Saw as my original Evolution Mitre Saw's base had fractured and a replacement base is quoted at almost the full price of a B&Q sourced replacement full Mitre Saw. The handbook for the Multipurpose Sliding Mitre Saw whilst fulsome in text (& applies to many countries) lacks clarity with its illustrations - their being a lack of contrast hence making interpretation difficult. Otherwise it appears to be a 'good buy', though I have yet to try its full capabilities.

Bought a mitre saw as a Christmas present for my husband. Due to grandchildren being around over the holiday period it was only unpacked recently for a d i y job. When we unpacked the saw we noticed that the part called 'a sliding fence' looked to have a jagged edge. As we emptied the box the small missing part dropped out. The 'sliding fence' was broken. I contacted Evolution through Toolstop who sold the saw to me. Evoloution maintained that the part must have been broken in use effectively saying I was not telling the truth. The saw though had not been used. The company refused to accept liability under the warranty. Evoloution power tools have not made us very happy.

The Fury 3B works well, I bought it for a specific job, and the job was certainly completed more eficiently and effectively by being able to cut quick, neat mitre joints. However, I was a little disappointed by three things: 1. The cutting blade did drop accurately into the slot in the base, resulting in my first cut catching the plastic surround of the slot. I had to undo the four bolts holding the cutting arm and re-align it . NB This is not one of the adjustments which the instructions require you to make before starting work. 2. Even when well-adjusted there is a degree of 'play' in the cutting arm, reducing the accuracy of cuts. 3. Two allen keys are supplied for makin adjustments, but neither were the right size for the adjustments required before starting work. Tim Jepson

Price wise very good. However looking closer, you pay a price, as the base plate is barely held on (I had to send one jigsaw back, as the base plate would not even attach). It was also a bit of a struggle to get the blade in, as the angle of the back roller was so tight. It seems to be fairing quite well at the moment... But only time will tell.

I have not used my mitre saw yet, but did notice that it didn't come with a dust bag, very disappointing. Not the best instructions for putting the thing together either. If you are not mechanically minded it would possibly be impossible. Overall looks like a good tool.

I don’t have to saw anymore. The saw does have play in a straight cut and isn’t exactly straight, how do i rectify this?

Evolution Rage 4 cut off saw is a great saw, but let down by the very flimsy base and vice. The base can easily twist, and there is play in the pivot bearing, with one cut giving me a 3mm wide kerf, not really acceptable. I also own one of the brilliant Evolution Fury 2 circular saws which cost half the price, making the Rage 4 look well overpriced.

Why are you asking about happiness. What about the negatives?

The Blade is very good, The Sliding mechanism is good. But when you come to use the thing out of the box you have to put some of it together which is no problem but you'd think after assembling it you wouldn't have to adjust anything. The back rest- ran out of adjustment and i ended up just marking the Wood and holding it down on the base by hand rather than pushing it against the back rest (a little dangerous but it got the job done. I spent at least an Hour trying to set the back rest up and still could not get it lined up properly. I think if you spent an afternoon trying to set the thing up yourself you might get some good results, but my idea of trying to save some time on a project is not wasting hours trying to set the bloody thing up. My recommendation is to bite the bullet and buy a Dewalt or some other good make. Good Luck my friends (you'll need it).
