I got the 255sms+ mitre saw. It is very well built and it came well packed. The blade has an error of under 0.4 degree when slid-out. The bevelled angles were spot on. The laser was perfect which in some other reviews i read wasnt. Mine exactly where the blade left side meet the work peice. I assembled it myself if you plan to do it alone. however if you ever have to disassemble it you would need an extra pair of hands for unlocking the sliding rods. it does not have a brake but it comes to rest in 3-4 secs. Its not extremely loud and has a soft start which is great. I particularly like the slide rail cover that i got with the plus version. Came with a dust bag. I paid £151.99 on Amazon for this when it was on offer. Bought it to cut 14mm bamboo flooring which is twice the strength of oak and does it with ease with a 80T blade. I would have liked: - standard 30mm bore mounts - measurement on the left as well. - the correct instruction manual. None of the above was a deal breaker for me and i had shortlisted this saw with the Bosch 8 series (double the price). Went with this and not regretting it.

The sliding mitre saw has proved to be an excellent machine. Good quality and a performance to match. I now wonder how I managed without it in the past. Laser beam dust protectors needs to be cleaned after every use As these can get scratched during normal use I would recommend cling film for added protection and convenience but it’s ten out ten for this product from me

The mitre saw seems sturdy and well made, it was relatively easy to assemble. The instruction manual was a bit tricky to understand in a couple of places where the picture references quoted in the instructions did not match the picture quoted. Only given a good rating as not yet used the saw. Order to next day delivery was excellent, but did not receive an email confirmation of delivery eta from the courier as advised in the order confirmation which might be an issue for some people. Overall very impressed so far with the ordering and delivery, and with the price from the manufacturers website which was discounted to be cheaper than anywhere else it was advertised.

I looked at a lot of table saws before choosing this one and was persuaded by the flexibility offered by the 'cut anything' blade but also by the possibility of fine adjustment to all key settings. The saw was reasonably simple to assemble (more the leg assembly than the saw - youtube videos are more helpful than the instruction booklet). When done I still had 4 washers (part I) left over - checked with Evolution and these are meant to go under the nuts on the bolts which hold the leg assembly to the saw - the first pieces to be attached. For some reason they are not mentioned in the instruction booklet! I noticed that there was quite a bit of play in the sliding mitre table but this turned out to be because the screws holding the slide rails were not fully tightened - allowing for fine adjustment of their orientation to the sawblade. The scale for the rip fence was off by about 5mm but again it was easy enough to adjust this by slacking off the two 4mm hex bolts which hold the front rail to the right (slide-outable) side of the table. The rail can then be slid left or right to get perfect alignment (with fence against sawblade move rail until scale reads 0). If a wider blade is fitted, the scale can easily be tuned by moving the cursor (red line on perspex piece) which is fitted with a slot to allow for this. After setting the blade angle at precisely 90 degrees to the table the indicator on the angle setting scale can also be adjusted so that this reads 0. All of this means that it is possible to adjust this saw so that it is quite precisely set up. The folding legs work very smoothly and it is really convenient to be able to park the whole thing in a corner when it is not being used or to wheel it out when more space is needed or if you fancy a bit of fresh air! Cut quality is good enough for most purposes and a wood specific evolution blade (or another make of blade which will fit on the 1" arbour) will allow an even finer finish for cabinet work

Unfortunately Amazon supply from their own stock and use their own carriers, so we cannot comment on an Amazon delivery.

Recently purchased an Evolution R225DWS dry wall sander from Screwfix. Looked well made and so far has worked well. Quite heavy for ceilings but there's nothing else lighter unless you want to pay 4 or 5 times as much.. Pace yourself for ceilings, don't try and do too much at once. Walls were much easier and finished in no time. Overall great value for money, if you're careful you won't have dust issues as the extraction system is very effective. Only criticism is availability of sanding discs, hard to find and Screwfix only stock Feestool limited grit sizes which are expensive and they have to be ordered. Bear that in mind if you are using the machine at the weekend. If a company other than Evolution contact me for doing this review I'll be bloody livid!

I wondered why I could not properly adjust the height or the angle of the blade. When I looked closer the whole of the motor / blade mechanism had come loose from the u shaped brackets that control the travel and precision movement. I was able to remove one bracket and realign the whole mechanism back onto both brackets. I then for safety sake checked all clearances and adjustments prior to switching the machine on. All this rather than dismantle the complicated stand and repack the whole thing back in the box, what a nightmare that would have been. However this happened I have no idea, only that it all came adrift in transit. The unit now seems to be working really well and does a good job. Time will tell how well it works on my DIY jobs.
