This is my second RAGE 3-S, the last one lasted 4 years and I must say I have had good use out of it. Take care NOT to force or jam the blade whilst cutting as the end can shear off the armature. Evolution parts lists are easily found on line if you need to identify spares. However postage & packing tends to be on the expensive side. You can replace the armature and carbon brushes but with postage and with less than £20, you can buy a new one, For average use, this saw works well. Before using, check that the laser light is at right angles to the back guide, giving you a square cut. If not it is easily adjusted. As I said, this is my second Rage 3-S, so it can't be that bad.

The Evolution saw I purchased is for hobby use only ,for the short time I have used it, it has been a dream to operate. only one minor adjustment was necessary to the 90 Deg. angle stop.

Pity a Dust Bag is not included with the cross cut saw! Health and Safety? Also had to adjust the Angles to get a correct cut, other than that the design is good and hopefully will last many years. Also had problems registering not very clear.

Easy to assemble, good solid construction - needed adjusting out of the box as angles were a little off, blade installation is a little fiddly, but very pleased overall. Will need a better blade for cutting wood.

This is the second machine purchased. The first was good but improvements to the second make it excellent. Disappointed not to have received the e-mail regarding the warranty.

Bought a hand circular saw, and a rage 3 mitre saw 255mm. Haven't had chance to put it to use yet, but first impressions are good, whole lot of machine for the money. I have used the circular saw a little, and so far all good. Would recommend them to anyone.

My current project involves removing a very old first floor wooden floor whilst trying to cause the minimum amount of damage and disruption. The floor is riddled with blacksmiths flooring nails so I needed a saw that would not be damaged if it I hit any nails. On today's evidence the Rage does what it says on the box, it just sailed through the boards nails and all, without any loss of performance. Well worth £50!

For the price a good solid machine that appears to cut quite accurately

The saw seems to be quite good, though having bought the dust bag, this seem to be quite inefficient. Overall happy with the product

excellent tool for the price and a good size for second fix. On the down side the laser guide is a little bit blurry so although it's helpful I can't rely on it absolutely. Other than that the saw cuts nice clean mitres and bevels.

Impressive looking machine for the price! Much bigger and heavier than I imagined from the on line shots! But I have yet to use it - so have given it a "Good" rating on packing, manual and looks - until I get to use it (I am experienced DIY er, not Trade) Hit me again a while later and I should have some live experience to update my review)

Easy assembly, very powerful tool, cuts like a hot knife through butter, I am very pleased with it thusfar, one small niggle was that the dust extraction tube seemed to be of an odd size, would like to see an option to be able to attach a hose longer term with maybe a Jubilee-clip or similar or even the option to purchase an extraction kit. Have yet to try on metal and am a little sceptical about the longevity of the blade but I guess that time will tell .... overall a solid piece of equipment which will be an asset to my tool kit .... :D

Only just received this saw but first impression is that it is a very solid and accurate machine. Just gave it a small test run and the cut seems very clean and sharp and the mitre's spot on. Very pleased so far, ask me again in twelve months when I have given it a bit more use.

We had problems with the saw as the blade kept sticking. We contacted Evolution and spoke to Gary and he helped us sort the problem. Your hand book is not very clear on some points eg how to lock the arbor but Gary explained what to do.
